Common questions
How do I turn iCloud sync on or off?
Go to Settings › Privacy › iCloud sync. When it's on, your data syncs between your devices through your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database. We can't access it. Changes to this setting take effect the next time PepCal launches.
Apple Health data is never stored in iCloud, and progress photos stay on your iPhone.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings › Privacy › Export my data. PepCal creates a CSV file of your doses, supplies and weigh-ins and opens the share sheet, so you can save it to Files or send it to yourself. You can also export from the Erase all data screen, and from the paywall if your Pro access has ended.
How do I erase all my data?
Go to Settings › Erase all data. It removes everything from this iPhone and, when iCloud sync is on, from iCloud and your other devices. You confirm by typing ERASE. It can't be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
Erasing your data doesn't cancel your subscription. See "How do I manage or cancel my subscription?" below.
How do I restore purchases?
Open Settings and tap the PepCal Pro card, then tap Restore purchases. If you don't currently have Pro, that card opens the paywall, which also has a Restore purchases button. Restoring uses the Apple ID that made the purchase, and a Lifetime unlock can be restored on any device signed in with that Apple ID.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name (your Apple ID) at the top, then tap Subscriptions and choose PepCal. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date so you aren't charged for the next period.
If you cancel, your data stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud, and you can still export it. The one-time Lifetime unlock isn't a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel.
How does the free trial work?
The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial for users who are eligible. You aren't charged during the trial. If you don't cancel, billing starts on Day 3.
If you've allowed notifications, PepCal sends a reminder a day before the trial ends (on Day 2) that says "Your free trial ends tomorrow". You can turn that reminder off on the paywall. The reminder is a courtesy: to avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, as described above.
How do I lock PepCal with Face ID?
Go to Settings › Privacy › Face ID lock and turn it on. PepCal then asks you to unlock it with Face ID, or with your iPhone passcode if Face ID doesn't work.
